Kalami Beach Taverna and Bar
Taverna and bar “Kalami Beach” is located on the sea front just as you enter the village of Kalami on the island of Corfu, Greece. History of the taverna Kalami Beach At the beginning of the previous century, our ancestors lived in Old Sinies village, at the bottom of Pantokrator Mountain. They built their houses here to avoid the pirates who were invading and pillaging the seaside villages. Our ancestors owned buildings near the sea, which were used for housing their workers and for storing the olives. The heritage was divided between the younger generations. The small building on Kalami Beach was renovated by Dimitris Katsaros and since 1980 Kalami Beach Taverna and Bar has welcomed all international visitors and locals and introduced them to traditional home-cooked food, which is prepared by Frosso (Dimitris’ wife).
The son, Nikos, successfully continues in keeping with family tradition, with a standard that commands the highest quality and widest choice. We daily prepare the tastiest of dishes to suit all preferences, for your lunch or evening meal, you can choose from our extensive menu of meat, fish or vegetarian dishes.  .
Begin your meal with some of our mouth-watering hot or cold starters, and accompany them with a glass of wine or beer. For meat lovers, we would recommend that you follow on with the most famous Greek dishes of “Lamb Kleftiko” or “Stifado”, which are very popular with our repeat customers, or we offer traditional Corfiot dishes, such as, Cockerel Pastitsatha, Sofrito and Stifado. Tender fillet steak grilled to perfection is always another option; enjoy it cooked in its own juices or with one of our special sauces.  Fish and Seafood lovers will thoroughly enjoy the wide variety of fresh fish that is caught daily by George (Dimitris’ youngest son). Every day George will search the Ionian on his fishing boat “Nikolakis”, for the best quality fish and seafood, which you can enjoy, grilled.
Alternatively, you can enjoy the fish prepared using traditional Corfiot recipes such as “Bourtheto” or “Bianco” or for an extra special meal with seafood try “Lobster Pastitsatha”. Lobster Pastitsatha, as well as Scorpion Fish Bourtheto are the most popular dishes. To accompany your meal and to add that extra special flavour, we have personally selected wines, of different varieties of grapes, which are harvested from the vineyards around Greece and offer you an excellent selection of Greek red, white and rose wines. To compliment a traditional Corfiot meal the house wine is the best choice you can make.. A perfect meal is never complete without a good dessert. We have traditional Greek sweets, such as “Baklava” and “Kadaifi”, yoghurt and honey or sorbets are some of the delicious desserts on the menu, which can ideally be finished off with a coffee and brandy of your choice.  
If you just fancy a drink, then we have a fantastic array of drinks for you. Beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, juices and soft drinks are just a few of the drinks you can choose from. After your meal, sit back, relax and enjoy the marvelous views. The Taverna is ideally situated on the beach, you have the whole of the horseshoe – shaped Kalami, Albania and the South part of Corfu Island laid out in front of you. What more could you ask for? Nikos and our family are always happy and willing to serve you in a tranquil, friendly and relaxing environment next to the beach, whilst Mum Frosso and our chef will prepare the best food you will ever taste in Kalami. That is why our guests return time and time again. We are open every day, from early morning till late evening, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
