Barbarian invasion in Corfu The Barbarian invasion was started during the 4th century. The biggest invasion by the barbarians happened in 455 AC, with terrible catastrophic consequences for Corfu. In 550 AC, the gothic fleet and army plundered the island. That was one of the last disasters for Corfu. The Corfiots chose to make a new town for their safety between the two peaks, the former old fortress. |
